JAQUELYN & THE EFFORTLESS JOURNEY
The beginning
The Effortless, L.L.C. journey began with a challenging twist of fate and a courageous decision. In August 2015, I woke up to a locked laptop and a devastating email in my personal inbox. My employer, a virtual assistant company where I held the positions of supervisor and trainer, had abruptly ceased operations 72 hours prior, catching me completely off guard.
Determined not to let this setback define me, I refused to concede defeat and immediately began reaching out to my clients and successfully retained 10 clients by the end of the day. I gathered my two children, a bricked laptop, and the seeds of a plan, and embarked on a five-hour drive back home from visiting my parents.
On Wednesday, I began what is now known as Effortless L.L.C. I was armed with a new laptop, the loyalty of ten out of my thirteen clients, and one clear goal in mind—to sustain this venture for at least two years until my son started kindergarten—I embraced the challenges and opportunities ahead. Fast-forward to the present, my son has just completed fifth grade, and my daughter is going to be a freshman in high school. Effortless L.L.C. has thrived, achieving profitability and steady growth over the past eight years.
Motivation
On a personal level, my motivation stems from my family. I am blessed to be fully present for my husband and children, attending to scraped knees, nursing fevers, joining impromptu dance parties, and engaging in meaningful conversations. I take great pride in modeling strength and tenacity for my 13-year-old daughter, showing her that even in the face of joblessness and fear, seemingly insurmountable obstacles can serve as the launching pad for something truly remarkable.
